Slimline Unicorn Birthday Card/ Whimsy Stamps Cloud Die

Spread the love

Hello Crafty Friends…… Today, I will be making you this cute Unicorn Birthday card. I’ll be using the New Whimsy Stamps Slimline Cloud Die, the Unicorn wishes Stamp set and the 6×6 Bokeh Bliss Paper.

So let’s get started.

This is a pretty simple card to make. I start by die cutting the slimline clouds out. Then, I cut the pattern paper in half at the 3 inch mark and it will fit perfectly behind the clouds and you won’t be able to see the seam at all. First I glue one half to the back of the cloud die. Then I will glue the other half down so the two seams meet in the middle of the cloud die.

Then, I trim off any excess that is hanging off of the cloud panel.

I attach the cloud panel to a piece of white card stock that I cut to 8 ½” x 7” and scored at 3 ½”.

Next, I stamp the unicorn images onto a piece of white card stock using Copic friendly ink.

I color the unicorns. I didn’t do anything special with the coloring. I just color the images how I like them. For the hooves of the unicorn, I colored them in with the C-7 Cool Gray marker.

For the horn of the unicorns, I colored them in using Y13-Lemon yellow.

For the manes and the tails I used 3 different colors. I kept changing back and forth with BG32-Aqua Mint and RV63-Begonia and the BV01-Viola.

I colored the wings using the Y13- Lemon yellow and the Y08 Acid Yellow.

For the body of the unicorns, I used my favorite color which is the Neutral gray No.0. This color is great when you really don’t want to add any color to the image but you want to take away the stark white of the paper. It just adds a little bit of shading to the image.

Then, I wanted to add some sparkle to the unicorns because unicorns are magical. So, I added some wink of stella to the Unicorns horn, manes, tails and their wings.

Then, I cut the unicorns out. I usually fussy cut my images out, but I just got the Brothers Scan n Cut and have to tell you. It is the most amazing machine ever!!! It is definitely worth it in my opinion. I just thought I would mention it. It makes cutting so much faster and easier!!!!

Using my black ink I stamp the images.

I put foam tape on the back of the unicorns and I attached them to the card.

Next, I take the little butterfly images that came with the stamp set and I stamp 3 of them onto the card.

I have attached a list of the products I used to create this card if you are interested.
